January 2010 - International Mural Artist Brings Hope to Shelter Families
Joshua Winer, renowned mural artist of Waltham Mills Mosaics Studio, created a custom mosaic titled Soulstice. Representing the path out of poverty for our families in shelter, the mosaic inspires hope.


December 2009 - Old Navy is One in a Million

Five local Old Navy stores provide Project Hope families with shopping sprees, surprises, and many lasting memories.

December 10-18, 2009 - Holiday Gift Drive

Support Project Hope by holding a drive at your work, school, church or community organization and donating the new items to Project Hope families.

October 8, 2009 - Gearing Up for Winter

Bank of America Massachusetts President Bob Gallery handed out winter kits to Project Hope families at the Cradles to Crayons Gearing Up for Winter event held at Project Hope's Community Building.

May 27, 2009 - Breakfast with Sr. Margaret

Sr. Margaret is hosting a small group breakfast to celebrate the unveiling of our Donor Wall, the artistic centerpiece of Project Hope's entryway. Come, celebrate among friends with good conversation and breakfast at Project Hope's Community Building.

May 8, 2009 - Homes for families Legislative Breakfast at Project Hope

Representatives Marty Walsh, Marie St. Fleur, and Gloria Fox participated in this year's legislative breakfast held at Project Hope. It was an opportunity for families experiencing homelessness to share their experience with their Representatives.


December 9, 2008 - Project Hope Cookbook Launch Party

We celebrated the launch of The Many Flavors of Cooking with Project Hope and the opening night of the 2008 Gift Drive. Guests enjoyed food from recipes in the cookbook and went on a behind the scenes tour of the Project Hope Elf Workshop. Sr. Margaret Honored by Parenting Resource Associates for making a difference to homeless families in Massachusetts.

September 2008 - Global Learning Exchange Networks Forum: Building Partnerships, Knowledge, & Power to Advance Equitable Societies

This Forum explored how NGO learning exchanges can advance social change and innovation within the third sector in Greater Boston and around the globe. Sr. Margaret Leonard, Executive Director at Project Hope, was the keynote speaker for this event.

April 2008 - Project Hope Honored as Bike Friendly Business

Mayor Thomas M. Menino presented a Green Award to Project Hope for being a Bike Friendly business at an awards ceremony.


Oct 2007 - Sr. Margaret honored at The Family-to-Family Celebration

Sister Margaret Leonard, Project Hope's Executive Director, was honored at the Family-to-Family Project's 20th Anniversary Celebration chaired by founders Paul and Katie Bettenwieser.

July 2007 - She's a Birthday Sister

Sr. Margaret celebrates her 70th birthday with a surprise gathering of her family, staff and board members.

June 2007 - Sr. Margaret receives 2007 Award for Excellence

The 2007 Award for Excellence in Community Development from the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation was awarded to Sr. Margaret Leonard and Project Hope.

April 2007 - Extreme Makeover - Part 2

Rebuilding Together Boston, Gilbane Company and Fidelity Investments came together to makeover the outside of Project Hope's shelter in one day!

April 2007 - Reverend Msgr. William Francis Community of Hope

Friends of the late Father Bill gathered at Project Hope for a wonderful reception in his honor. His friends shared stories about this remarkable man, his extraordinary personal style and presence. To continue Father Bill's legacy, the Community of Hope Fund was established to give a helping hand to people in the community.

Community Building Earns Silver Status under Green Building Guidelines

Project Hope's Community Building is now officially the first certified "green" building in Roxbury. Project Hope received Silver status for showing Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design from the US Green Building Council.

Sept 2006 - Gillette Awards Project Hope With Homelessness Prevention Grant

Gillette officials announced a $100,000 grant to Project Hope earmarked for homelessness prevention at an event held at Project Hope.
